Rider Pathway

Experience shows us that female riders often have very different rates of development and progress can be very individual. As such, there is no strict pathway riders will follow as part of the team. Our focus is geared towards:

1. Development

2. Progression

3. Performance

An individual’s rate of development and progression will determine their trajectory. For riders who are consistent with structured training we envisage they will quickly progress to Category 2, comfortable in regional races and competitive in junior national races. By applying this consistency over time, Category 1 status will be achievable for those riders with the desire to compete in UK elite national races.

For those riders who consistently follow structured training for 2-3 years and are motivated to pursue the sport at the highest level, we believe there is potential to achieve a performance standard of interest to Scottish national teams and UCI Continental road teams.

Solas Cycling is working in partnership with Scottish Cycling and, depending upon performance level, riders can integrate into the iDevelop or Performance Pathway programmes.
